Families Together in New York State is a family-run organization that represents families of children with social, emotional, behavioral and cross-systems challenges. Our goal is to ensure that ALL children and youth have the support they need in order to succeed. We represent thousands of families from across the state whose children have been involved in many systems including mental health, substance abuse, special education, juvenile justice, and foster care. Our board and staff are made up primarily of family members and youth who have been involved in these systems.

The Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York was founded in 1975 as the New York State Citizens Coalition. The Coalition provides support, information and advocacy for foster, kinship and adoptive families in the Empire State and the professionals who serve them.

The Office of Mental Health (OMH) operates psychiatric centers across the State, and also regulates, certifies and oversees more than 4,500 programs, which are operated by local governments and nonprofit agencies. These programs include various inpatient and outpatient programs, emergency, community support, residential and family care programs.

The Federation of Families is a nationwide advocacy organization with families as its sole focus.  The Federation provides the only national certification for a parent/family peer workforce, known as Certified Parent Support Providers, to provide support to other families who have children with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges.

NAMI or the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.  NAMI is the nation’s leading voice on mental health.  The alliance is an association of more than 500 local affiliates who work within the community to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.

YOUTH POWER! is a New York State network run for and by youth and young adults. They work to ensure young people have meaningful involvement on all levels of the services they receive, and ensure the availability of Peer Support through persistent advocacy, technical assistance and by offering training and education opportunities.
